We are a community of believers centered around faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who follow the American Baptist tradition. Organized in 1834, First Baptist Church has been ministering in the community of Bedford for more than 190 years. We are a mixture of ages, ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds brought together by a common faith and woven together by love of God and love of one another.

Why We are Here

FBC of Bedford exists to lead people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ through knowing Christ, growing in Christ, serving Christ, and sharing Christ.

We exist to Know God. To lead people into an understanding of the Christian faith and the life and work of Jesus Christ.

We exist to Grow in relationship with God. To lead people into a deeper understanding and practice of the Christian faith.

We exist to Serve God. Jesus was a servant. He has instructed us to serve as He did. We serve by loving God with all our hearts and loving our neighbor as ourselves.

We exist to Share God. We seek to reach the people in our community who need to be welcomed into the body of Christ.
